My mortgage was sold to PennyMac before my first payment was even due. There hadn't been any issues until our garage caught fire April 7th. Because of the high dollar amount for repairs, the checks were issued to both myself & PennyMac to be held in escrow & released to the contractor in thirds, based on inspection.

We've been living in a hotel since the fire (2 adults & 2 cats) since the fire &, trust me, the novelty wears off FAST.

PennyMac initially claimed I didn't send them a breakdown of the repair payouts, so it had to be resent, holding up the process. The checks were finally cashed on July 7th. We were told the 1st payment would be issued to the contractor in 3 business days. This has yet to happen. All of the work that has been done so far on our house has been on the contractor's dime.

Last week, they called to assure me that my claim was on top of the pile & they would have it paid out by Monday. It's now Tuesday. The contractor was told yesterday that the check would be sent this morning. When he called for a tracking number this morning, he was told the process had been started, but it would be 2-3 business days to process the check.

I got a call about 20 minutes ago. They wanted to apologize for the delay & let me know that, due to the confusion of their office being moved, the claim missed the payee process & they now had to request a payee code to have the contractor put on the check. I told her I could certainly understand the confusion of a move because I've been living in a hotel for almost 4 *** months! They wanted me to know that once they received that code (which will hopefully be tomorrow), that the check will take up to 3 business days to process. I told them that they've known that my contractor should have been paid before they even cashed the check, so the fact they are just now looking to add him to the check is unacceptable. Furthermore, I told them that we've been hearing "2-3 days" for 3 weeks now.

I've filed a complaint with my attorney general & I just don't know what to do. I just want to go home & the company is holding my money hostage, & me in the process. They're not too concerned, though, so good for them.

Avoid this company if you don't want to be homeless.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I cant seem to make any headway with these folks, they have since moved from California to Georgia and the problems have double. where can I file a complaint?
