Bank of America absorbed Countrywide Mortgage a couple of years back. Bank of America is not my favorite bank to begin with but I stay with them.

Then they sold the Mortgage to Penny Mac sometime last year, I never heard of this company so I called them and was told to transfer my allotment to their web site but make sure I mail my payment till the allotment kicks in, We made double payment in February and tried so hard to get paid back, they try to collect twice on my USAA account and I was hit twice with NSF fee by my own bank. Then 2 weeks ago they mailed my wife a 700 dollars for overpayment of escrow. I notice that since they absorbed the loan they are charging me 49 dollars extra for late payment which they said came from Bank of America. I confronted BA and they said my payment history did not show any late payment since it is on automatic deduction from my Army allotment.

I found out on line that this is not an isolated case and it seems that they are doing this to everyone of their client.

Shady, shady, ugly way to milk their customers. I filed a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission website, hope everyone do the same!

Monetary Loss: $200.
